Our Journey:
Art in the Heart, founded by artist Veronica "Roni" Cabrera-Moreno, emerged from her firsthand experience with art inequity in underserved communities. In 2020, Roni and her family converted an old school bus into a mobile art studio, reaching children in areas lacking artistic resources. This mobile studio not only served as a creative haven but also uplifted communities, reaching groups like migrant children and survivors of human trafficking. In 2021, with support from Kelly Clarkson and HEB, Roni established an art center in her childhood neighborhood. Since May 2022, Art in the Heart has impacted over 5,000 individuals, guided by its mission of HEART—Health, Environment, Arts, Recreation, and Technology. The organization remains committed to breaking barriers and empowering communities through accessible, transformative art experiences.
The Team
​At the heart of our community service mission stand the founders, the Cabrera-Moreno family. Together, Noe, Amadeo, Norberto Jr., Joshua, and their visionary mother Ronis, supported wholeheartedly by their father Norberto, have been the driving force behind our initiatives. From extending warm welcomes to families and assisting with classes to setting up events and capturing moments through media, these remarkable individuals embody the true spirit of service. Their collective commitment and family synergy not only established the mission but continue to nurture it, leaving a lasting impact on our community.
